Learn Croatian in Croatia

Immersion Courses

Nova LRG_DSC06247-3

Study courses in Croatia, known as immersion courses, are the most effective method to start or improve your Croatian language skills. This progression is further enhanced when the lessons are one to one with the teacher.

The Croatian Language School has over 20 years of teaching experience and is unique in offering one to one immersion courses throughout the year.  The school has focussed on creating these tailor-made immersion programs in two diverse locations, one in the capital Zagreb and the other on the island of Lošinj. These two schools give students a broader insight as to how Croatians live, work and relax in these contrasting environments. By understanding the student’s linguistic objectives and their personal interests prior to the course, the Croatian Language School can offer a niche language and cultural program. We aim to inspire students to learn more about the country and excel in the language.

Each student who enrols for an immersion course has a completely individualised program and can choose whether to study in Zagreb or Lošinj or, alternatively, the student can combine the two locations.

Standard Immersion Courses

All our individual language courses are tailor-made, organised in agreement with the student’s requirements and in accordance with CERF guidelines (Common European Reference Framework).

  • Standard: 20 lessons per week
  • Semi–Intensive: 25 lessons per week
  • Intensive: 30 lessons per week
  • Language and Culture: 20 lessons per week + meet locals and learn about the local culture

Lessons are of 45 minutes’ duration and cost £40.00 per (one to one) lesson.

A minimum of 20 lessons per week is required to enrol.

Tuition during the week can start on any day from Monday to Sunday.

Additional Information & Options

Study can be completed in the mornings or the afternoons to co-ordinate with work commitments or personal plans.

Students can amend the teaching duration to suit their preferences, for example 90 minutes’ study sessions followed by a break.

Lessons can be shared with up to one other person, at an additional 50%.

Super-Intensive courses can be arranged for up to 50 lessons per week.

Students arrange their own accommodation but we are happy to advise or assist in this process.

Interests of the student can be combined within the study course program such as visits to the theatre, concert or museum; specialised markets; olive oil mills and vineyards. Courses can also be combined with other training or study elements such as Croatian cookery.
