Lošinj - Croatian Language and Cookery Course

Course Outline & Timetable

The Croatian Language Summer School offers students a one or two week programme of either Croatian Language training or a course combining Croatian Language and Cookery training.

Students are split into groups per week with a dedicated language teacher for each group and with no more than 10 students per class. The summer programme caters to students of Beginner to Advanced language levels.

Arriving on Saturday, students will be welcomed to Lošinj and given their orientation and invited to a cultural evening event. On Sunday, students will have the option to go on a daytime excursion.

For the Language only course option, tuition will take place for 5 hours per day, 25 hours a week from Monday to Friday. Beginning each day at 09.00, the morning classes last 3 hours and the focus is on all four language skills, learning grammar and performing language exercises. In the afternoon, classes start at 16.00 and there is one hour of speaking practice followed by one hour of writing exercises.

For the combined Language and Cookery course, the language tuition will take place for 3 hours a day each morning, totalling 15 hours a week from Monday to Friday. The cookery classes start in the afternoons Monday to Friday and last for 3 hours and include preparation, cooking and wine & food tasting. Despite the fact there is no formal language tuition during the cookery class, the lessons are taught in Croatian, with assistance from the tutor, where necessary, to help with translation.
